OMG…Gossip Girl Glam “Juliet Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”

Juliet may not live here anymore but she most certainly made the most of her last minutes dazzling in the Vintage Statement Necklace seen in photo above which she paired with a grand Cocktail Ring, worn on her first finger,  a sure fire attention grabbing combo perfect for the opening night at the Ballet!  So here’s to you Juliet! You take top honors in our Gossip Girl Glam Poll for the week, however count yourself lucky that your behavior is not taken into account for this award for your antics should have you band from the Upper East Side for Life…oh but wait Blair, Chuck, Serena, and Nate did banish you so it is a just world after all!   Enjoy your last moments of Glam while we highlight other Glam looks from last nights episode!
Glam Spotlight Shone Bright on These Looks from Last Night too:
While I was not wild about the dress I did love Serena’s Statement Vintage Art Deco Earrings she paired with this look therefore gaining her place on our weekly spotlight list.
I will give an A for effort for trying to make Vanessa look like she belonged at the Opening Night of the Ballet or anywhere near the Upper East Side, and I did truly like the Dangle Earrings paired with this dress, but still we all know she is nothing but a she-wolf in sheep’s clothing.  So it’s only fitting that she and Juliet, this week’s Gossip Girl Glam Poll Winner, will be teaming up to try to take down Serena in episodes still to come this season!
So until next week keep “Glam” with Jewelry from Laura James Jewelry Studio Boutique in historic Dilworth in Charlotte, NC or online at www.laurajamesjewelry.com

OMG Gossip Girl Glam “The Undergraduates”

Thank God! “Gossip Girl” is making a come back from last season’s plot plummet with the return of scheming and cattiness among the girls of Gossip Girl and admit it or not I’m pretty sure it was these antics that got you hooked on the show in the first place. Watch out Juliet, “B” is back and looks like she and S put you in your place last night with their pre-taped fight streaming live via Gossip Girl at Fashion Night Out! After that stunt lets hope Juliet, this season’s new mystery character, learned you don’t mess with S & B when it comes to their fashion know how or the strength of their friendship!  Both S&B sparkled in their dare to be bold fashions! Serena, in her black, white & blue sequin dress, and Blair in her short silver sequin mini dress paired with a great vintage statement necklace, both of these looks worn at the Fashion Night Out event hosted by Lily in last nights episode! And lets here it for our host Lily; ever the fashion maven stepped up as host and dazzled us with her purple dress accented with gold jewels galore!
So until next week don’t fret if you don’t have a key to Hamilton House all you need is jewelry from Laura James Jewelry to grant you access to the exclusive club of your choice.  Stop by Laura James Jewelry Studio Boutique in historic Dilworth in Charlotte, NC or visit us online at www.laurajamesjewelry.com.

Other fav looks of the night can be seen in photos below!

Sparkling Rocker looks we also loved: Lady Gaga in Armani, Rihanna in a flapper look for her performance of “Love the Way You Lie” with Eminem, to Taylor Swift also giving a nod to the vintage look as she debuts “Innocent” her new song inspired by her famous run in with Kanye West, during last years VMA’s.

Sparkling MTV Stars Looks We Loved: Go to the ladies of “The Hills”; Audrina Patridge, Stephanie Pratt & Lo Bosworth.  With Honorable Mention going to Jenni “JWoww” of the “The Jersey Shore” sorry Snookie you went a little overboard with the fake tanner.

Mad for Mad Men’s Vintage Style “Waldorf Stories”

Before revealing what we are Mad for in this weeks episode of “Mad Men” it must first be pointed out that…..Real life mimicked art this past Sunday; or at least that proved true for both the cast and characters of “Mad Men”.  While in Mad Men’s Episode 6: “Waldorf Stories” where we saw the Mad Men take home a win & Clio Award for their Glo-Coat commercial; at the same time in real life we saw the cast and show of “Mad Men” take home the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series!  Congratulations on the win to all involved with this amazing show!!!

So in keeping with premise above that real life mimicked art this week for both the characters and cast of “Mad Men” we were Mad for Peggy Olson/Elizabeth Moss’s vintage style. Her vintage style was seen not only in the “Waldorf Stories” episode, with her great white hat to the amazing vintage gold tone statement stud earrings, but carried over to her look on the Emmy’s Red Carpet wearing Donna Karen’s beautiful nude colored gown.  From Peggy’s pose in this shot from the episode to this beautiful shot of Elizabeth striking a pose for photogs on the red carpet one thing is clear…she is a true vintage screen siren!!!!

Regardless which you are, if your Peggy looking to be fashionable around the office in great pair statement stud earrings or Elizabeth striking a pose on the Red Carpet we have jewels to suit all your looks at Laura James Jewelry Studio Boutique, in historic Dilworth in Charlotte or online at www.laurajamesjewelry.com.

62nd emmy awards red carpet recap

Favorite dress and look of tonight’s red carpet would have to be “Glee’s Lea Michele in the gorgeous flamenco-inspired Oscar de la Renta dress paired with beautiful wreath necklace and stacked jeweled bracelets.  I am sure many will quip that this dress was too much for her petite build but I beg to differ her big presence on the red carpet carried off this look as though she were born to walk the red carpet!  So cheers to you Lea Michele and enjoy your night as we honor the greats of TV!!!

However can’t wrap this post without  giving a quick spotlight to all the great Chandelier, Dangle, and Drop Jeweled Earrings as well as beautiful Sparkling Stud Earrings that were seen tonight on many of the other style sirens of the red carpet!!

For all your Red Carpet moments in life shop Laura James Jewelry Studio Boutique or visit www.laurajamesjewelry.com for it is here you will find the jewels that complete your look and make you sparkle and shine like a star just like Lea Michele did tonight at the 62nd Emmy Awards!!!!

The Oscars: Red Carpet Rundown

By Lil Springer for Laura James Jewelry

The jewels on Oscar’s 2010 Red Carpet certainly shined just as bright as the smiling faces of the winners of the night. Designs chosen for Hollywood’s most important night were on trend from Statement and Stud Earrings, enormous Cocktail Rings and Statement Necklaces to multiple stacked and bejeweled Cuff Bracelets. In keeping with the spirit of the Oscars it’s only fair to share my picks for the most Oscar worthy jewels of the evening…

  • In the Earring Category we saw many diamond Stud Earrings; always an elegant choice as are the ever-classic Drop and Chandelier/Statement designs. My Favorite Stud Earring goes to…Fred Leighton’s 19th century diamond stud earrings worn by Sarah Jessica Parker.  Fave Drop Earring goes to…Sandra Bullocks’ (own) timeless platinum diamond Drop Earrings …along with the Lorraine Schwartz 20-carat bronzed platinum diamond drop earrings worn by Zoe Saldana from Avatar.  Fave Chandelier/Statement Earring goes to…Van Cleef & Arpels diamond, pearl and sapphire Tassel Earrings worn by Demi Moore.
  • In the Bracelet Category we saw them primarily stacked in multiples of diamond crusted Bangles and Cuffs. My award (tie) goes to Lorraine Schwartz 250-carat brown, champagne and mint diamond geometric bracelets worn by Amanda Seyfried… and of course the Stacked platinum and diamond Fred Leighton baubles worn by Sarah Jessica Parker.
  • In the Ring Category we saw Cocktail Rings of every shape, size and stone. My pick for best Cocktail Ring (tie again) goes to…Lorraine Schwartz 10-carat ruby ring worn by Miley Cyrus and the Lorraine Schwartz 80-carat amethyst and diamond inlay ring worn by Zoe Saldana.
  • In the Necklace Category we noticed it was either “Statement Necklace or Go Home”, a look which sometimes outshine even the brightest star on the red carpet. The Oscar for my pick of best Statement Necklace goes tothe $2.5 million yellow diamond custom-made Tiffany & Company necklace worn by Kate Winslet.

So there you have it! My picks for the most Oscar Worthy Jewels of 2010 which also sadly marks the end of the red carpet season…but don’t fret! You can always find Vintage, Unique and inspired styles like these at Laura James Jewelry Studio Boutique in Charlotte, NC or by shopping us online at  www.laurajamesjewelry.com!
